There’s definitely a trend going on when it comes to Hollywood celebrities and taking steps to look their best. It’s called thighlighting, and it’s all about concentrating on legs. A key part of thighlighting is the thigh lift.
In this issue, we’ll talk about the specifics of a thigh lift procedure, detail the procedure itself, and talk about what you should expect in terms of results.
What is a thigh lift?
A thigh lift has become the procedure of choice for patients who have experienced the accumulation of fat cells, cellulite and excess skin in the thigh area.
The surgical procedure reshapes your thighs by targeting the removal of excess fat and skin from the inner or outer thighs, giving you skin that’s smoother and improved contours along your lower body.
What are the pros and cons of having a thigh lift?
Among the pros for a thigh lift are your clothing fitting better, your thighs appearing more firm and curvaceous, and your body appearing more proportional.
The associated cons are a possible follow-up procedure to smooth out any unevenness and some scarring.
What’s the thigh lift procedure?
Because this is a surgical technique, you’ll be given anesthesia for your comfort.
If you’re having an inner thigh lift, your plastic surgeon will make an incision near your groin, and running downward around the back. The excess fat and skin in this area will then be removed.
Based on your individual needs, your plastic surgeon may target areas from your groin to the knee with an incision running down the inseam.
For an outer thigh lift, an incision is typically made from the groin and running around your hip and across the back.
The incisions in either technique can be pinpointed so that any associated scarring will be easier to disguise.
When should I see results from my thigh lift?
While you may experience some swelling and bruising, you should see results from your thigh lift almost immediately.
Am I a good candidate for a thigh lift?
You are if you:
- have a relatively stable weight;
- are a nonsmoker;
- are committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, especially in terms of nutrition and fitness; and
- do not have medical conditions that could get in the way of healing.
