What is a Mommy Makeover?
A mommy makeover is a combination of plastic surgery techniques designed to address many of the common issues faced by women who have been through pregnancy and breastfeeding.
What is Included in a Mommy Makeover?
A Mommy Makeover refers to a combination of body contouring procedures. They are performed together to improve the physical changes to your body after pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. At his San Diego plastic surgery practice, Dr. Sadrian will meet with you to discuss your goals and then develop a customized plan that is right for you. The general approach to Dr. Sadrian's mommy makeover procedures includes three surgical procedures:
- Breast lift: During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the breasts can increase in size as much as a full cup size or more. Returning to normal can mean a significant loss in volume with noticeable sagging. Many women choose to restore their buoyancy and/or to augment them.
- Body sculpting: Moms can experience drastic changes in the body and skin shape and condition after having children. Battle scars include stretch marks, sagging skin, excess fat, and other issues.
- Tummy tuck: After the baby weight is lost, many moms struggle with excess skin and fat on the abdomen. A tummy tuck will remove the excess fat and skin, and in most cases, restore weakened or separated muscles that have resulted due to pregnancy.
What Can I Expect After The Procedure?
A mommy makeover typically allows you to recover at home. Your recovery can take one to two weeks depending on the specific procedures included in your mommy makeover. Following your mommy makeover surgery at Dr. Sadrian's San Diego office, you can expect to experience soreness, swelling, and bruising. You will be limited in what you can lift – including children and pets! It is important to have someone help you at home for at least 24 to 48 hours after your procedure. Avoid heavy lifting, sports, vigorous exercise or other physical activities for about six weeks.
How Long Will it Take to See The Results?
The results of your surgery will slowly be revealed. You’ve just had surgery and as with any surgery, recovery time is needed. During the first three to six weeks of your recovery period, your abdomen and breasts will be swollen. This is nothing to worry about; it’s a natural part of the healing process. Swelling diminishes over the days and weeks. The final results, and a trimmer, more attractive look finally achieved after about three months.
