Contour TRL By Sciton In La Jolla
Contour TRL by SCITON treats: deep wrinkles, scars, Actinic Keratosis, poor skin tone and texture. Treating the skin with laser stimulates the growth of new collagen, which improves the skin’s thickness and resilience. The skin surface will also re-grow with fresh, healthy cells which will give your skin a younger, rejuvenated appearance. 7-10 days social downtime.

Profractional Laser:
Profractional laser treatments are best for general improvement of skin surface and skin texture. They are particularly effective in correcting fine lines, wrinkles, acne and blemish scars, and skin discolorations also known as dyschromias or “sun spots.” The laser treats these conditions by creating clean microchannels in the skin, which also means faster healing time.
The treatment itself involves the laser scanning across the surface of the treated area to carefully remove a layer of skin. Your body will then naturally replace that layer with new, healthy skin. The depth at which the laser scans and ablates depends on what you are trying to correct. Shallow ablation is best for fine lines, minor sun spots, and general resurfacing of tired-looking skin. Deeper ablation treats skin tone and texture and helps to eliminate deeper wrinkles, even those in delicate areas like the upper lip and the corners of the eyes.

Microlaser Peel:
Microlaser peel is an extremely specific skin resurfacing procedure, suitable for the face, chest, and hands. The microlaser peel’s underlying process is similar to a profractional laser treatment, i.e., the upper layers of the skin are removed, triggering the body’s natural healing response to generate new skin cells. However, microlasers penetrate the skin’s deeper layers with greater precision, making microlaser peels superior to most other skin resurfacing treatments. Microlaser peels treat wrinkles, acne scars, skin discoloration, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, textural irregularities, and keratosis, i.e., the formation of rough patches on the skin’s surface, leading to smooth, supple, taut, and youthful skin.

Contour TRL:
Contour TRL treatments are very interesting because this type of laser leaves a great deal of control in the hands of the surgeon. The laser can be tuned differently depending on what needs to be treated, which means a wider variety of skin conditions can benefit from Contour TRL. These conditions include mild to deep lines and wrinkles, scars from acne, injury, or post-surgery, keratosis, lesions on the skin that result in pigmentation problems, sagging skin, skin tone and texture problems, and deep wrinkles around the mouth and eyes. Whether you have these issues on your face or other parts of your body, Contour TRL can likely fix or improve the problem.
Sciton Laser Mechanism of Action
A laser beam at 2940 nm wavelength will be delivered through a computer controlled device that automatically scans the area of skin being treated. Physicians can control the ablation and coagulation depth for either light or deep peels. As we age, the effects of sun damage and environmental pollutants take their toll on our skin, causing it to wrinkle, develop sun spots and look tired. A Sciton skin resurfacing procedure can reverse these effects and restore a healthy look to the skin. There are two approaches to resurfacing: full field, and fractional. In full field resurfacing, the entire surface area of the skin is treated. A laser beam is scanned across the treatment area and precisely removes a layer of skin. The body will naturally replace the old, damaged skin that was removed, with a fresh, healthy layer. Treatments can range from shallow (which might be appropriate for eliminating fine lines, sun spots and tired-looking skin) to deep (which is often used to improve skin tone/texture and eliminate deep wrinkles, even in difficult areas like upper lip lines and crow’s feet). In fractional resurfacing, the laser removes pinpoint columns of skin, leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This approach allows the laser to penetrate very deeply for effective collagen remodeling, while the surrounding intact tissue promotes rapid healing.
