In this issue, we’ll talk about eating habits to adopt to after a liposuction procedure to keep the results going.
What is lipo?
As we explained in our previous entry, liposuction is all about removing excess fat deposits to improve the contours and proportion of your body. Through liposuction, fat is broken down and sucked away from the targeted body area.
As opposed to a tummy tuck, liposuction can be used of many parts of the body such as abdomen, buttocks, thigh, chin, calves, upper and backs of arms, and the back.
What foods should I eat after having lipo?
Your goal should not be drastically limiting food or eliminating all foods that taste good. The trick instead is to adopt a healthy lifestyle with a foundation in a balanced and nutritious diet.
Doing this doesn’t necessarily mean drastically changing your diet. The key is including healthy choices whenever possible.
For example, opt for lean cuts of meat, choose fat-free yogurt over cream-based products and select fat-free oils over saturated fats. It’s also a good idea to bring more fruits, veggies and whole grains into your diet.
As for the typical three-meal American diet, you may want to switch to eating smaller meals throughout the day to help maintain your energy levels and feelings of deprivation.
Also crucial to maintaining your lipo results is frequent hydration. Drinking water helps to control your hunger, maintain a healthy metabolism and assist with digestion.
